To help you enjoy your holiday here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions that your charter party will wish from you, which we hope you find useful, however please feel free to contact the team for any other details that you require.

Charter Availability

How do we know the availability of the vessel for charter?

The vessel availability can be viewed by going online to www.sunrisecharters.co.uk/booking and by viewing the vessel availability page, alternately please feel free to e-mail at This email address is being protected from spambots. What style and experience of diving can you cater for?

The vessel will usually spend the week in and around Scapa Flow and the selection of wrecks to see will meet the requirements of the newest to most demanding technical divers. If you have a complete range of diver ability then please discuss this with the vessel skipper who will ensure a plan to suit all needs during the week.

Can we split the week in Scapa Flow and then out to Shetland Isles?

It is not practicably to do a part week in Scapa Flow and a part week in Shetland and have the vessel back in Orkney for the next party. Full week charters can be arranged to the Shetland Isles and we can give you the supplement for this on request.

Bookings

How is the best way we can book the vessel?

Bookings can be made by going online to www.sunrisecharters.co.uk/booking and by downloading a booking form from there, or by ctrl + click on the www above.

How do we contact you by e-mail or telephone for bookings and enquiries?

How do we secure a booking?

For all Bookings a minimum of £1000.00 is required to secure the booking.

When is full payment required?

For all Bookings full payment is required 12 weeks prior to your arrival date.

How can we pay?

Payment can be accepted as:

  • bank transfer
  • cheques
  • or by cash
Can we book spaces on the vessel if we do not have a full charter party?

For individuals or smaller charter parties we will have certain weeks of the year there we have part vessel charters and we can advise you of these on request?

Living on Board

How many people can we book on the vessel?

The vessel can comfortably accommodate a maximum of 12 people.

What type of accommodation is on board the vessel?

The accommodation consists of six twin berth cabins, and one single cabin all accessible from a central corridor on the lower deck. Each cabin has hot and cold water ensuite, are fully carpeted and are heated by hot water radiators.

On the upper deck there is a saloon, galley, drying room and changing area before you reach the fully enclosed shelter deck.

There are two showers and two toilets to avoid the morning and post dive rush!

For your entertainment apart from the wild stories there is a TV, video and stereo with a darts board for the more sporty!

Are we required to take anything for the accommodation?

All that is required is to take your own sleeping bag, towel, and toiletries and clothing. We supply a bottom sheet and pillow and can supply duvets if you have forgotten your sleeping bag.

How do we access and egress from the deck to the sea?

Access is from stepping off the lower deck at a height of no more than 1.5m. To egress could not be easier as there is a hydraulic lift.

Can we just book self-catering?

Yes, however you can have an option of breakfast or brunch on board for those that wish.

Does everyone have to be either self-catering or half board?

No, as long as you have made it clear in advance who will be enjoying half board then we can plan accordingly with the cook!

Can you cater for vegetarians?

Yes, again as long as we are informed at the time of booking then we can arrange with the cook to provide the required number of meals.

Gas Fill Details

What type of gas fills can we obtain on board?

We can accommodate single and twinsets air fills up to 230bar and these are FREE OF CHARGE to fill.

Can we rent cylinders?

Yes, we have 12no. 12Ltr cylinders on board FREE TO USE by the charter party as they are included in your charter costs. Alternatively if required we can provide 15Ltr steel cylinders at £30.00 per cylinder per week.

Can we get fills for twinsets?

Yes, we can fill all twinsets up to 232bar ALL AIR FILLS ARE FREE OF CHARGE.

Other Dive Kit Details

Can we rent lead weights?

We can supply lead weight for the duration of your diving on board at NO additional cost.

Can you supply Sofnolime?

We can arrange for Sofnolime to be available for the period of your charter through our partners Scapa Scuba. If you advise the quantity we can provide a cost and you would pick up from Scapa Scuba and pay them directly.

Can you fix dive suits or equipment?

Our friends at Scapa Scuba offer an overnight repair service for most cuff & neck seal repairs, and fixing minor leaks. The suits can be arranged to be returned to the boat for you by the morning so you do not miss a days diving.

Transfers from Ferry or Airport terminals vessel

Can we pick up and return divers to the airport?

We can with advanced notice arrange pick up and return of diving parties to and from the airport to the vessel.

Can we pick up and return divers to the ferry terminal?

The ferry terminal is at the same pier as the vessel and the ferry company provides divers with trollies to move their diving equipment with. Northlink ferries provide trollies to pack your gear into to the short walking distance to our vessels berthing point.
