The “Remaining” Wrecks

SMS Karlsruhe PhotoSMS Karlsruhe

A Geman WW1 light cruiser, Karlsruhe II was a 5,440 ton, 151 metre vessel powered by ten coal and two oil fired boilers. Her armament was eight 15cm L/45 guns, three 8.8cm anti aircraft guns and four 50cm torpedo tubes, plus up to 200 mines.

She is well deteriorated, but is still very impressive, relatively shallow at 14-27 metres and makes a great workup or beginner/intermediate level dive due to her shallow depth giving good ambient light and long bottom times, and can be dived in any tide.
